Gas Log Sets

Gas log sets are the heart and soul of a gas hearth. They are expertly crafted down to the unique grain patterns and hand-painted in intimate detail to look just like natural wood. Gas log sets are very versatile; they can be installed in a masonry or manufactured hearth or even integrated into inserts and stoves. This flexibility provides convenient and affordable supplementary heat for any space.

Gas log sets are also an excellent, high-efficiency replacement for the lower-quality "builder's grade" gas fireplaces that were pre-installed in many homes on Boston’s North Shore and surrounding communities, instantly upgrading both the look and heat output.

From Beverly and Framingham to Salem and Londonderry, Sweepnman is your local hearth dealer for high-quality gas log sets. Our factory-trained and certified technicians provide professional fireplace installation and warranty repair services throughout southern NH and northern MA, ensuring expert support close to home.

Types of Gas Log Sets

There are two types of log sets: vented and vent-free (ventless):

Vented

A vented set requires a chimney or external vent to expel its gas and combustion gases from the living space. Made from high-quality ceramic and refractory materials, vented gas appliances produce a realistic fire appearance with substantial heat output.

Ventless

Ventless or vent-free gas logs use advanced technology and oxygen sensors that allow them to vent directly into the living space. Although oxygen sensors will shut down the unit before carbon monoxide reaches an unsafe level, proper ventilation, such as a partially open window, is essential to maintaining a safe indoor environment.

Note: Some municipalities, COAs, and HOAs may restrict or prohibit the use of ventless appliances. Contact Sweepnman for more information.

Realistic Wood Species for Gas Logs

Choose from an assortment of wood species with unique grain patterns to give your gas appliance a custom appearance. Some of the most popular choices in the Merrimack Valley include:

  • Oak: This classic ceramic log provides a rugged look with deep bark textures that create a rustic campfire experience.
  • Birch: Its distinctive white or light-colored bark complements neutral interior décor and creates a lively contemporary ambiance.
  • Charred Hickory: Its dark logs evoke an authentic wood-burning experience with a traditional ambiance.

Installing a Gas Log Set Offers Many Benefits

  • Instant Heat: Flames light immediately with a remote control, wall switch, or push-button ignition.
  • Realistic Wood Fire: Provides a realistic wood-fire experience without the chore of sourcing wood or ash disposal.
  • Clean Operation: Gas burns much cleaner than wood, significantly reducing creosote buildup and eliminating the need for frequent chimney sweeping.  **Annual inspections are still required.
  • Cost-Effective: Natural gas or propane is often a less expensive fuel source than electricity or oil for supplemental heating.
  • Fireplace Makeover: Quickly and easily upgrades the appearance and efficiency of outdated masonry or prefabricated gas fireplaces, complementing your interior space.
